2026 FORJ ANNUAL OREGON RURAL AND SMALL TOWN JOURNALISM CONFERENCE

FORJ’s annual journalism conference has become the state’s key convening of rural and small-town journalists, academics, thought leaders and philanthropic funders—uniting the community, providing training and offering access to new funding sources and strategies.

In 2026, the conference will be held on July 29 and 30 at Central Oregon Community College. This year, FORJ will expand participation from 75 to 125 participants, with training in three tracks: Innovative Funding Models, Tools, and Topics, provided by expert practitioners, philanthropists, and academics from across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
